Today we are going to do English-speaking practice. We will learn English through story named Dish washer. This is English story for listening. We hope that you can improve your skill by listening English story.

Part 2: Vocabulary:

To swallow    verb   /ˈswɒl.əʊ/  -->  を飲み込む  /  삼키다  /  nuốt  

to move your throat in order to make food or drink go down 

Example:  

I've swallowed a horse, Doctor, and I feel very ill. 

His throat was so painful that he could hardly swallow.

Injection    noun   /ɪnˈdʒekt/  -->  を注射する  /  주사하다  /  sự tiêm  

to put a drug into someone’s body using a needle 

Example:  

The doctor's nurse gave the man an injection, the man went to sleep, and the doctor went out quickly to look for a horse in the town. 

The medicine was given by injection

To undergo    verb   /andəˈɡəu/  -->  を経験する  /  겪다  /  chịu đựng, trải qua  

to experience something, especially a change or medical treatment 

Example:  

Ah, Mr Dave, it seems your horse has undergone a magical transformation during its time inside you. 

They underwent terrible hardships.

Transformation    noun   /ˌtrænsfərˈmeɪʃən/  -->  変形  /  탈바꿈  /  sự chuyển đổi  

a complete change 

Example:  

Ah, Mr Dave, it seems your horse has undergone a magical transformation during its time inside you. 

the transformation of water into ice.

Disbelief    noun   /ˌdɪsbɪˈlif/  -->  不信 /  신뢰의 부족  /  sự thiếu tin tưởng  

the state of not believing 

Example:   

Mr Dave stared at the white horse in disbelief and exclaimed, "A magical transformation?

That's remarkable!"  He looked at them in disbelief.

Remarkable    adj   /rɪˈmɑː·kə·bl/  -->  卓越した  /  놀랄만한  /  đáng chú ý  

very unusual in a way that you admire 

Example:  

Mr Dave stared at the white horse in disbelief and exclaimed, "A magical transformation?

That's remarkable!"  He really is a remarkable man.

To chuckle    verb   /ˈtʃakl/  -->  くすくす笑う  /  빙그레 웃다  /  cười một mình  

to laugh quietly 

Example:  

The doctor chuckled and said, "Indeed, it seems your stomach changed the colour of the horse's hair. 

He sat chuckling over something funny he had found in the newspaper.

To bleach    verb   /bliːtʃ/  -->  漂白する  /  표백제  /  tẩy trắng  

to make white or clean with bleach 

Example:  

The chemicals in your stomach bleached the horse's hair. 

His hair bleached in the sun.

Incredible    adj   /ɪnˈkred·ɪ·bl/  -->  すごい  /  믿기 힘들 정도로  /  khó tin  

hard to believe 

Example:  

Mr Dave thanked the doctor and left the office, eager to share his incredible story. 

He does an incredible amount of work.

To whisper    verb   /ˈwispə/  -->  ささやく  /  속싹이다  /  thì thầm  

to speak or say very softly 

Example:  

Amazed, Mr Dave reached out to touch the horse's silky mane and whispered, "Oh maybe that's it." 

You’ll have to whisper or he’ll hear you.

 

Part 3: Summary of the article:

A man visited his doctor, claiming to have swallowed a horse and feeling ill as a result. The doctor decided to help and administers an injection to make the man fall asleep. While the man was sleeping, the doctor quickly searched for a horse in the town. After finding one, he brought it into his office and presented it to the man. He said that he has removed it from the man's stomach. However, the man noticed that the horse in front of him is white, while his original horse was brown. Perplexed, he points out the difference to the doctor. The doctor smiled and suggested that the horse must have undergone a magical transformation during its time inside the man's stomach. The man is amazed by this explanation and touches the horse's mane, accepting the idea. The doctor expressed his satisfaction with the outcome and told the man that he is now well. The man thanked the doctor and left, excited to share his incredible story.
