Today we are going to do English-speaking practice through story. Today Subject is Barking dog.



Part 2: Vocabulary:

Bark   verb   /bɑːk/          

to make a loud, rough noise.

吠える       /         짖다  /         Sủa  

Example:

He heard a dog barking outside his window. 

They heard a dog barking outside.

Soundly      adverb        /ˈsaʊnd.li/    deeply

深く  /         깊이  /         một cách sâu

Example:

He was sleeping soundly in bed.        

I slept very soundly

Fall asleep   verb   /fɔːl əˈsliːp/       to start to sleep.

眠りにつく /         잠이 들다   /         bắt đầu ngủ

Example:

Why did Bobby fall asleep again?     

Then Bobby fell asleep again.

Wake up     verb   /weik ap/

to bring or come back to consciousness after being asleep

覚醒する    /         깨우다        /         thức dậy

Example:

Bobby woke up when he heard the dog barking.    

Why did he wake up?

Part 3: Summary of the article:

The story was about Bobby’s Sunday. Bobby had a day off from school. He was sleeping when he heard a loud barking outside his window. He got up and see a big brown dog. He asked it why it was barking, and then went back to sleep. Bobby enjoyed his Sunday.
