English speaking practice Level 2 | Bug in bottle

Today we are going to do English-speaking practice with a new short story.

Part 2: Vocabulary:

 

Front  yard    noun   /frant jaːd/ -->    前庭  /  앞 마당  /  Sân trước

Example:

He found the glass bottle in his backyard. 

 

Backyard      noun   /bӕk jaːd/  -->   裏庭  /  뒤뜰  /   sân sau

Example:

Pick up     verb  [pik up]  -->       選び出す /   찾다 /   Nhặt lên

pick someone/something up.

to lift someone or something using your hands.

Example:

Bobby picked up the bug. 

I picked up the kids' clothes that were lying on the floor.

Part 3: Summary of the article:

Bobby didn't have to go to school on Sunday. He found a pretty dark green glass bottle when he went to his backyard. He couldn't see anything in the bottle. When he shook it, a bug had crawled out of the bottle. Bobby picked up the bug and looked at it. The bug crawled back into the bottle when Bobby put the bottle and the bug back on the ground. He decided to keep the bottle and the bug. He brought them inside and placed them on his desk. He was watching the bug all day and happy with his new discovery.
