Today we are going to do English-speaking practice through story. Today Subject is Mia's Letter.

Part 2: Vocabulary:

Eraser       noun   /ɪˈreɪ·zər/     -->     消しゴム    /  지우개     /   cục tẩy     

a small object that is used to remove pencil marks from paper

Example:    

It had a pink eraser.       

I have received numerous letters about the ban on scented erasers.

Fold    verb   /fould/  -->   を折りたたむ  /    접다    /     gấp; xếp lại

to double over (material, paper etc)

Example:    

Mia folded the letter and put it into an envelope.

Lick verb   /lik/    -->     をなめる    /      핥다  /      liếm

to pass the tongue over

Example:    

She licked the flap and stuck it down.

Flap     noun   /flӕp/      -->     フラップ    /    덮개  /    nắp

anything broad or wide that hangs loosely.

Example:

Stick          verb   /stik/   -->     貼り付ける /    붙다  /      đâm, thọc, chọc

to push (something sharp or pointed) into or through something.

Example:

Raise     verb   /reiz/   --> を持ち上げる  /   위로 올리다   /  nâng lên; giơ lên        

to move or lift to a high(er) position.

Example:    

Raise your right hand.

Flag      noun   /flӕɡ/     -->         /          /      cờ

A piece of cloth with a particular design representing a country, party, association…

Example:

Part 3: Summary of the article:

The article is a short story about Mia’s writing a letter. She received a red pencil with a small pink eraser from her mom. She wrote a short letter to her grandpa on a white piece of paper with blue lines. She wrote that she loved him. Mia's mom commented on the letter's length, but Mia said that it was short but sweet. Mia then folded the letter, put it into an envelope, and sent it with a stamp. She felt happy and proud. She couldn't wait for her grandpa to receive the letter.
