Today we are going to do English-speaking practice through story. Today Subject is Individual hobby.

Part 2: Vocabulary:

Hug            verb   /haɡ/     ハグ /  껴안다   /    ôm chặt; ghì chặt       

to hold close to oneself with arms, especially to show love

Example:

Mia hugged the book.

She hugged her son when he returned from the war.

Thin           adj     /θin/      細い  /  얇은  /   mỏng, ốm gầy      

not fat, not set closely together

Example:

The pages were thin and white.

His hair is getting rather thin.

Smell          verb   /smel/          -->    

臭う,  嗅ぐ /  냄새가 나다  /   ngửi thấy, đánh hơi thấy

to notice by using one’s nose

Example:

It smelled like paper.

I smell gas

Brave         adj     /breiv/          -->    

勇敢  /         용감한        /         Can đảm, gan dạ  

without fear of danger, pain etc

Example:

Once upon a time , there was a brave knight in a far-off land.

You’re very brave

Knight       noun  /nait/  -->     騎士  /         용사,  기사 /         hiệp sỹ       

a man of noble birth who is trained to fight, especially on horseback

Example:

Once upon a time, a brave knight was in a far-off land.

King Arthur and his knights.

Shelf            noun /ʃelf/  -->    シェルフ    /         선반  /         Kệ, giá       

aboard for laying things on

Example:

Then she put the book on the shelf.

Mia puts the books on the shelf.

Fairy          noun  /ˈfeəri/         -->     妖精  /         요정  /         thần tiên

an imaginary creature in the form of a very small (often winged) human, with magical powers.

Example:

Mia liked fairy tales.

Children often believe in fairies.

Tale  noun /teil/   -->               a story.

物語  /         이야기        /         câu chuyện

Example:

Mia liked fairy tales.

He told me the tale of his travels.

Magic        noun  /ˈmӕdʒik/    -->     マジック    /         마법  /         ma thuật

the art or practice of using supernatural forces

Example:

She liked the stories with magic.

The prince was turned by magic into a frog.

Part 3: Summary of the article:

Mia received a big red book from his dad. The book had a picture of a dragon on it. She hugged it, opened it, and read a fairy tale story about a brave knight. Mia enjoyed the story and wanted to read it again. She asked her dad and Her dad agreed. Mia read and put the book on the shelf. Mia and her dad loved to read so the shelf was already full of books.  They often visited the library. Mia enjoyed reading fairy tales and stories with magic there.
